Pinar Artuk Boegel is a self-taught mixed media artist who is influenced by many artists and designers as well as everyday objects. Born and raised in Ankara, Turkey, she explored various forms of fine arts throughout her childhood and teenage years. Her maternal grandmother was into arts and crafts, and taught Pinar the basics of sewing, glass painting and knitting. She was into poetry and theatre too but those interests did not last more than a few years. Pinar studied International Trade and pursued a different path in life other than having arts in her focus. She continued to feed her creative side by seeing exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. Love for colors kept being the constant in her life, that helped her express herself through fashion or other means. After numerous life-altering decisions and events, Pinar decided to give a try to crafts and she began creating again in late 2021. One work followed another and she found herself painting. While experimenting with different materials, she started making decorative art and home décor, and founded Craft Works Art Design. Pinar has always loved abstract artworks although she enjoyed watching Bob Ross’ TV show when she was a kid. Abstract met patterns and then ‘ribbon art’ was born. Under the name RENKLI, Pinar currently focuses on acrylic painting and ribbon art, and dabbling in paper art. Renkli means ‘colorful’ in Turkish, which describes the core of her creativity. The endless possibilities of the color harmony amaze her as she plans her next work during her sleep.
