The architecture is very cool in Mexico City as well. I love the old style buildings, I can say not many of them preserved well but even the decaying ones are beautiful – well, maybe to me 🙂 I could talk for hours about the artistic side of the city but I have to mention the food…which is everywhere! Street food is a thing – they can be found in every corner plus some spots have Farmer’s Markets set on the weekends. I have to say a word on the amazing restaurants and bakeries they have too; the Mexican cuisine is already delicious but if you are looking for different tastes while you are there, many options are available like Japanese, Italian, Portuguese and so on.
And of course we’ve been to the Frida Kahlo Museum! I have to admit I was not crazy about her before, but it totally changed after stepping into Frida & Diego’s world. The house and its garden are absolutely amazing…the plants, trees, colors popping from every step and the art is overflowing from the house to the courtyard. I want to live there!! Very peaceful and the ambiance is breathtaking. There are not many works of her displayed in the museum but her house and belongings are well preserved. You see her bed, art materials, personal stuff and her collections…She has a habit of collecting things, anything and everything. That is one of many things that Frida and I have common I actually really liked finding out. It also gave me the confidence on collecting more lol. I’ve realized those little things are my inspiration and that kinda normalized my actions 🙂 You see her clothes and the meaning behind it as well. It is not just to hide her disabilities but is a statement: a Mexican woman who is strong and confident. Frida is definitely an inspiring legend!
